Our Programs
All Majors. All Saints. 65 Programs. 55 Countries. See the World. Stay Funded.
Siena Abroad provides students in all majors the opportunity to study abroad around the world. Through semester, year-long, short-term, and post-graduate opportunities, students pursue international internships, do original research, engage in meaningful service learning, and form lasting bonds and friendships - all while gaining a greater understanding of themselves and the world, and developing a professional edge for their future.
What are my options?
Students can study abroad anywhere from 1-2 weeks to over a year! These options include:
How do the finances work?
For a semester abroad, students pay their normal Siena bill with no additional costs added. Financial aid, including scholarships, grants, and loans, still apply. Out-of-pocket costs include airfare, personal expenses (i.e. traveling, shopping), and student visa fees. For a short-term program, students pay the direct program cost, which can vary depending on the length and location. We understand finances can still be a concern and do not want that to limit any student from studying abroad. We are happy to review available, external study abroad scholarships and funding opportunities with all students. In fact, since 2012, Siena students have received over $300,000 in funding for study abroad! |
What's the value of studying abroad?
Students gain many skills from studying abroad including multicultural awareness, adaptability, independence, and language proficiency. However, the greatest value comes from its professional merit. Recent studies have proven employers are looking for college graduates with "global fluency", or the ability to navigate unfamiliar situations, adapt to changing circumstances, and work effectively in a diverse environment. What are the eligibility requirements?
Students must have a 2.50 overall GPA at the time they apply for study abroad, though some programs in English-speaking countries may require a 3.0. To study abroad for a semester, students must be at least a second-semester sophomore. All short-term and summer programs, however, are available to students starting their freshman year. Lastly, all majors are eligible for study abroad! While some majors may require more course planning, we are more than happy to help you navigate this process. |
